Hack and Slash is actually two related "free" and "open source" (LGPL,) projects. The first is the Hack and Slash Action RPG computer game. Please feel free to use any graphics or information off this page for news concerning the Hack and Slash Action RPG computer game. The Hack and Slash Action RPG computer game specializes in arcade style play control, combined with the use of Mano a Mano Role-Playing System concepts. Hack and Slash is 3D, and we are developing it using Blender, with the Blender game engine. Hack and Slash currently supports multiple players on one computer. It is meant to be re-used and/or altered for use in both free computer games AND NON-FREE COMPUTER GAMES, under the terms of the LGPL open source licence. This also means that "Total Conversions" of the Hack and Slash Action RPG can be distributed as independent stand alone games. Programmers, game developers and modders, please note:
Also important to the Hack and Slash Action RPG: The second project is the Mano a Mano Role-Playing System. Mano a Mano is written for paper and pencil Role-Playing Games, but the Hack and Slash computer game also uses Mano a Mano. We have been working on what is now Mano a Mano since 1988. Mano a Mano has been "open source" since before May of 2001 (a while before we got wind of the plans to make the "D20" system "open source.")
