Attacking - Attacks are actions that cause damage or manipulate a target. An attack uses at least one hit point to increase the attack power or maneuvering bonus of that attack. Additional hit points can be used to manipulate the opponent (See Action Rules/Manipulation), maneuver or increase the damage.
Attack Power - The attack power of a hand weapon or thrown weapon is the weapon's power bonus or the character's size - whichever is greater - plus the number of hit points used to increase the damage. The attack power of a bow is the bow's pull bonus.
Target Size - Larger targets are easier to hit, so the encumbrance of a target is added to the roll against the success of any attack against that target, even if the target is not defending or inanimate. A character or object's encumbrance is only applied once for each attack, so if a character is parrying an attack, don't add their encumbrance because the parry bonus already includes encumbrance. Attacking from a Distance - Use the bonus from this table (based on the distance from the attacker to the target) instead of the attacker's encumbrance if it is less than the attacker's encumbrance:
